Shosenkyo Country Club, established in October 1970, is a historic 27-hole golf course located north of the Kofu Basin in Yamanashi Prefecture. Offering stunning panoramic views of Mount Fuji, the Yatsugatake Mountains, and the Southern Alps, it provides a breathtaking backdrop for players. On clear days, the World Heritage-listed Mount Fuji can be seen from many spots across the course. Surrounded by nature, the club invites golfers to enjoy an exciting round in a serene setting. It’s easily accessible, just a 10-minute drive from the Futaba Service Area on the Chuo Expressway for vehicles equipped with ETC.

The course is hilly so club selection must account for elevation changes—take one more club for uphill shots and one less for downhill.

Greens are a mix of bentgrass and zoysia, so expect faster, truer reads on bent surfaces and firmer, slower responses on zoysia; approach speed control is important.

Wind can swirl in the Kofu Basin and strengthen in the afternoons, so monitor conditions and favour controlled tee shots over aiming for maximum distance.

Positioning off the tee is often more important than length on the fairways—focus on placing your drive for the preferred angle into the green rather than cutting corners aggressively.

The area has a distinct seasonal pattern with a rainy season in June–mid July and hot, humid summers with occasional afternoon thunderstorms; autumn brings stable, clear weather ideal for views, and winters are cool and often very clear with possible frost or light snow.

Spring (April–May) and autumn (October–November) are the best times to play for mild temperatures and the clearest views of Mount Fuji, while winter offers crisp visibility but cold conditions and occasional frost or snow.
