At over 7,000 yards the course is long so prioritize fairway position and conservative club selection rather than always trying to hit driver.

The hilly terrain produces frequent elevation changes so adjust club choice for uphill and downhill shots to avoid coming up short or overshooting.

Wind off the Ishikari area can be steady and shiftable, so check wind direction on elevated tees and play lower trajectory shots when it’s gusty.

Greens are bentgrass and can be moderately quick with subtle breaks, so use the putting greens beforehand to judge speed and be cautious with uphill/downhill reads.

Approach areas are protected by bunkers in many locations, so aim for the center of the green when the pin is tucked and avoid overly aggressive shots into tight targets.
