Accuracy off the tee is more important than distance because the hilly layout and relatively narrow fairways reward well-placed drives.

Pay close attention to elevation changes when choosing clubs, as many holes play significantly uphill or downhill.

Greens are bentgrass and generally receptive rather than extremely fast, so focus on hitting the correct portion of the green rather than relying on long putts.

Wind can be variable in the Miyakonojo Basin and may swirl in hollows, so watch for gusts and adjust ball flight and club selection accordingly.
