Kashima Minami Tateshina Golf Course is a resort-style 18-hole course located in Chino, Nagano, surrounded by beautiful views of the Yatsugatake and Alps mountains. Established in 1973 and expanded in 1987, the course stretches over 6,233 yards and offers a relatively flat layout with some challenging narrow fairways and fast bentgrass greens. Highlights include the pond-surrounded green on hole 2 and the long, straight par-4 sixth hole. After playing, guests can relax in a spacious bathhouse with large windows. The practice range was renovated in 2011, featuring 10 bays at 50 yards. Access by car is convenient from Suwa interchanges.

Although the overall routing is relatively flat, many fairways are narrow so prioritize accuracy off the tee rather than pure distance.

Hole 2 features a pond-surrounded green so choose a conservative club or aim for the safe side when the pin is tucked near water.

The long, straight par‑4 6th rewards a controlled long tee shot to leave a comfortable mid‑iron into the green.

Bentgrass greens can be quick and true—take note of breaks and commit to your speed as putts can bite if misread.

Because the course sits near the mountains, wind and weather can change quickly so check conditions before each hole and adjust club selection accordingly.

Being in the Nagano highlands, expect cool temperatures compared with lowlands, large day–night temperature swings, frequent summer afternoon showers or thunderstorms, and variable winds that can pick up suddenly near the mountains.
