Ikenodaira Golf Course is a village-operated nine-hole short course located in a highland park at 400 meters elevation in Shimokitayama Village, Nara Prefecture. Opened in 1980, it features a total length of around 1,770 yards with three holes where drivers can be used, offering a well-balanced and enjoyable layout. The course includes some challenging holes surrounded by forest and water hazards. Visitors can also enjoy nearby scenic spots like Myojin Pond and forest trails, as well as comfortable lodge-style accommodations. After playing, relaxation is available at the nearby Kinari no Yu hot spring, with discounts for course guests.

With only around 1,770 yards and three holes where a driver can be used, prioritize accuracy and position over trying to overpower the course.

Many holes are flanked by forest and include water hazards, so aim for the centre of the fairway and avoid risky line calls off the tee.

Exposed highland holes can be breezy so adjust club selection for wind and play a lower trajectory into the wind when necessary.

Greens are bentgrass and generally receptive, so focus on leaving approaches below the hole and control your speed on chip and lag putts.
