Strategically designed fairways reward accuracy over distance, so prioritize tee placement to open simpler approach angles to the greens.

Many tees and greens sit on exposed ridges where crosswinds and gusts can affect ball flight, so check wind direction and play one club stronger into the wind when necessary.

Bentgrass greens are maintained to a high standard and can run firm and quick at times, so focus on precise distance control and read subtle breaks carefully.

On longer par 4s and par 5s favor conservative lines to avoid trouble and aim for wider parts of the fairway to ensure a playable approach.

Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the most comfortable temperatures, stable weather and good course conditions, while the June rainy season and the coldest winter months are best avoided.
