The fan-shaped American-style layout offers varied hole angles so pay attention to wind direction on each tee as it can change strategy drastically.

The hilly terrain causes frequent elevation changes—club up on uphill approaches and club down on long downhill shots to avoid coming up short or overshooting.

Bentgrass greens are well-maintained and can be relatively fast, so focus on precise distance control and read subtle breaks carefully.

When attacking greens, favor the center of the putting surface where slopes are gentler, since pin-hunting can lead to difficult up-and-downs.

At about 6,700 yards the course rewards length but accuracy from the tee often pays more than raw distance.
