Moderate hills and elevation changes make club selection tricky, so carry an extra club on uphill approaches and one less on downhill shots.

Bentgrass greens are smooth but can be subtly undulating, so take time to read the breaks and expect moderate-to-fast speeds.

Wind from the Nasu foothills can be variable and often picks up in the afternoon, so monitor conditions and adjust trajectory and club choice accordingly.
