Chonan Public Course is an 18-hole premium public golf course located in gentle countryside of the Boso Peninsula, just a short drive from the Ichihara Tsurumai interchange. Designed by Kokichi Yasuda, the course offers a layout that is friendly to beginners yet challenging for advanced players. With wide fairways and open holes, golfers can enjoy a relaxing game while aiming for par on the long holes and managing strategy on the middle-length holes. Wide fairways reward well‑placed tee shots, so prioritize accuracy off the tee rather than trying to overpower every hole.

Several long par‑5s offer genuine birdie opportunities, so plan when to go for the green and when to lay up for position.

The course is hilly, so pay close attention to elevation changes on approaches which can significantly affect club selection and landing areas.

With two green types (bentgrass and zoysia) the speed and roll can vary hole to hole, so check the daily green sheet and be cautious on reads.

Exposed holes can pick up seaside winds and gusts, so always factor wind direction and strength into club selection, especially on longer holes.
