Toyo Country Club in Chiba Prefecture offers an 18-hole, par 72 course set in a hilly landscape designed by Hiromitsu Hasegawa. The club features bentgrass greens and a welcoming environment suitable for various skill levels. Conveniently located about 1.5 hours by car from Tokyo, access is easy via the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line and Ken-O Expressway. The club has recently enhanced its women’s facilities, including expanded locker rooms and upgraded bathroom amenities. From May 2024, motorized carts are allowed on the fairways for an additional fee. A new salad and dessert bar has also been introduced at lunch, emphasizing fresh, high-quality ingredients.

The hilly layout produces many uphill and downhill shots, so always adjust club selection for elevation changes.

With a relatively short total yardage, attackable par‑5s and short par‑4s reward accurate play off the tee rather than raw distance.

Bentgrass greens tend to be smooth and can play faster in spring and autumn, so spend time reading subtle breaks and controlling approach speed.

Winds from the Tokyo Bay direction can create crosswinds on exposed ridges—check the wind at each tee and shape shots accordingly.

Fairway cart access (available for a fee since May 2024) makes navigating the hilly terrain easier and helps conserve energy for the back nine.
