Coastal winds are a major factor so choose clubs conservatively and allow for crosswinds on exposed holes.

Fairways tend to be relatively narrow, so prioritize accuracy off the tee rather than sheer distance to avoid rough and seaside hazards.

Bentgrass greens are generally smooth and receptive, but read subtle breaks carefully and expect faster speeds in cooler, drier conditions.

When pins are located toward the sea, aim for the center of the green to avoid difficult recoveries from bunkers or native rough.
