The front nine features wide, straight fairways—take advantage of distance off the tee but prioritize finding the fairway to set up easier approaches.

The back nine is tighter and more tree-lined, so favor accuracy and position play over trying to overpower holes with long tee shots.

Hilly terrain produces uphill and downhill lies that significantly affect club selection, so club up on uphill approaches and club down on downhill shots.

Wind can pick up in the afternoon near the Mount Fuji foothills and will change yardages, and the bentgrass greens are generally smooth and can be firm and fast in drier weather so read subtle breaks carefully.
