On this hilly layout, accurate tee shots that find the fairway set up the best angles for uphill and downhill approach shots.

Bentgrass greens are maintained well and can be moderately quick, so be cautious with pace on downhill putts and aim for the center when unsure.

Afternoons can be breezy on the foothills—check wind direction and strength before each shot and add or subtract clubs accordingly.

Many fairways are framed by natural rough and slopes, so play conservatively off the tee to avoid tricky recovery shots.

Take in the Mt. Fuji views but keep your routine—use the mountain and surrounding ridgelines as visual clues for prevailing wind direction when visible.
