Although largely flat, the course rewards precise tee shots and approaches because fairways are subtly undulating and the greens are relatively large but demand accuracy.

The mix of bentgrass and bermudagrass means green speed and grain change with the seasons, with bermuda surfaces typically running quicker and presenting more grain-dependent breaks in summer.

Being alongside the Arakawa riverside brings occasional crosswinds and gusts that can significantly affect trajectory, so check wind direction and club up or down accordingly.

At roughly 7,035 yards the course plays long, so long hitters can gain an advantage but course management into the roomy greens will save strokes.

Soft spikes are recommended and riverside sections can stay softer after rain, so expect some receptive run-up areas around greens.
