Favor controlled tee shots and aim for the center of fairways lined with white birch and larch rather than trying to overpower holes.

Account for elevation changes on many holes—choose an extra club for uphill approaches and be conservative on downhill shots.

Bunkers have been improved and are often placed around greens, so prioritize hitting the fairway and play approaches to the middle of the green.

Bentgrass greens have moderate but sometimes subtle undulations, and can play quicker on warm summer days so read putts carefully.
