Accuracy off the tee is important because the hilly terrain and elevation changes can leave awkward approach angles if you miss position.

The front nine features valley and pond carries so choose clubs conservatively on forced carries to avoid penalty strokes.

The back nine’s many doglegs reward shot shaping and course management, so consider laying up to the safe side rather than always trying to cut the corner.

Bentgrass greens are kept in good condition and can be true but play faster in the cooler months, so pay close attention to speed and subtle breaks.

Expect variable yardages on uphill and downhill shots and account for breeze on exposed holes when selecting clubs.
