Tee shots should prioritize accuracy over distance because most holes are lined with tall red pines and errant drives can be heavily penalized.

Fairways feature gentle undulations, so aiming for the middle of the landing area usually leaves the easiest approach to the green rather than attacking tight pin positions.

Bentgrass greens are well maintained but can become firm and quick in warm, dry weather, so control your approach speed and be cautious with downhill putts.

The tree-lined layout generally shelters the course from strong winds, but exposed holes can be breezy—check the flags and adjust club selection accordingly.

Soft spikes are required on the course, so bring appropriate footwear to avoid problems at the clubhouse and on the course.
