The hilly layout requires careful club selection—expect significant elevation changes and adjust clubs for uphill and downhill shots accordingly.

At 935m above sea level the ball generally carries farther than at sea level, so consider taking one less club on longer shots when in doubt.

Positioning off the tee is important because many fairways slope and poor positions lead to awkward downhill or sidehill lies.

Greens are bentgrass with subtle contours, so read breaks carefully and be prepared for firmer, faster surfaces in cooler months.

Wind from the direction of Sagami Bay can be variable and gusty on elevated tees, so check wind conditions before every shot.
