Golf Club Shijonawate is an 18-hole mountain course located in Osaka Prefecture. Each hole is completely separated, offering a peaceful and distinct playing experience. The fairways are relatively wide but bordered by mountains and valleys on one side, so accuracy is essential to maintain a good score. The front nine challenges golfers with uneven fairways and strategically placed cross bunkers, while the back nine, though shorter in distance, tests players with detailed undulations around the greens. Accuracy off the tee is more important than pure distance because several fairways border steep slopes or valleys and errant drives can be penalized.

On the front nine, play conservatively to avoid the strategically placed cross bunkers and account for fairway undulation when choosing landing areas.

Expect elevation changes on many approach shots so club up or down carefully for uphill and downhill lies rather than relying on yardage alone.

The bentgrass greens exhibit subtle, tricky undulations on the back nine so take extra time to read breaks and control putts rather than attacking aggressively.

Mountain routing can produce swirling, gusty winds in exposed spots, so pay attention to wind direction at the tee and adjust aim and club selection accordingly.
