Favor accuracy off the tee rather than distance because several holes feature strategically placed water hazards and tighter fairway corridors.

Expect crosswinds and gusts on exposed highland holes, so club up and play a lower trajectory when the wind is strong.

Aim for the center of the green on approach shots because mounded fairways and undulating greens can produce unpredictable bounces.

Bentgrass greens tend to be true and receptive, so prioritize speed control on longer putts.

Study hole diagrams to identify stone-bridge crossings and ponds and plan conservative plays where water comes into play.
