The hilly layout makes club selection critical on uphill and downhill shots—take an extra club for long uphill approaches and club down for downhill lies.

Bentgrass greens are generally smooth and can run quick in warm weather, so focus on low, precise approach shots and read subtle breaks carefully.

Wind can be shifty across ridges and valleys, so check conditions from the tee and play more conservatively into crosswinds.

Fairways are forgiving in places but elevation changes and uneven lies punish wayward shots, so prioritize position and course management over sheer distance off the tee.
