This is a very long, hilly championship course so prioritize distance off the tee and conservative club selection to avoid long approach shots.

Expect significant elevation changes—take one less club on downhill shots and one more club on long uphill approaches.

Bentgrass greens can be fast and subtly undulating, so practice lag putting and carefully read subtle breaks before attacking the pins.

Wind can be variable in the hills with gusts and swirling on exposed ridges, so monitor wind direction at each tee and favor controlled low shots when needed.

The Kato area of Hyogo has hot, humid summers with a June rainy season and possible typhoon influence in late summer/early autumn, mild and stable conditions in spring and autumn, and cool winters with only occasional snow at higher elevations.

Spring and autumn are the best times to play when temperatures are mild and the course and greens are in prime condition, while avoiding the June rainy season and peak summer heat.

Blazers must be worn (except during extreme heat periods), and sandals are not allowed; shoes must always be carried in a shoe case. During play, a collared shirt (high-neck shirts are acceptable) must be worn.
