The hilly routing produces significant elevation changes so adjust club selection for uphill and downhill shots rather than relying on yardage alone.

Robert Trent Jones Jr.’s strategic design rewards accuracy off the tee—favor placement into the wider corridors rather than always bombing driver.

Greens are bentgrass and maintained to tournament standards so expect true but potentially quick surfaces and plan approach shots to leave putts uphill when possible.

Many tees and fairways sit on ridges or plateaus where wind can be shifty and stronger than at ground level, so check the wind from elevated tees before committing.

Well‑placed bunkers and firm fairways punish careless recovery shots, so play conservatively into tight landing areas and prioritize position over distance.

The Kanto region brings hot, humid summers with frequent afternoon thunderstorms and a typhoon risk in late summer/early autumn, mild and relatively stable spring and autumn conditions ideal for golf, and cool winters with occasional frost or light snow; winds are often more noticeable on exposed ridges and plateaus.

Late spring (April–June) and autumn (October–November) offer the most comfortable temperatures, stable conditions and attractive scenery, while peak summer brings heat and typhoon risk and winter can be cold with frost or occasional snow.
