Sapporo Minami Golf Club Komaoka Course is a historic 18-hole golf course located just 25 minutes from central Sapporo. Established in 1966, the course underwent a major redesign to add beauty and harmony under renowned designer Taizo Kawada. Players can enjoy a comfortable round with caddie-attended remote-controlled carts and practice facilities including a driving range, approach area, and a fast bentgrass putting green. The course offers scenic views of nearby mountains and mature trees, creating a peaceful and enjoyable golfing experience in Hokkaido’s southern district. Soft spikes are required, and all skill levels are welcome.

The hilly layout rewards conservative tee shots—favor position over raw distance to avoid awkward lies and heavy rough.

Approach shots often involve elevation changes so choose clubs carefully and allow for uphill/downhill lies when targeting fast bentgrass greens.

Greens are quick and can be subtle in break, so aim for the center of the green and use a firmer putting stroke to avoid three-putts.

Wind can be variable around Sapporo, especially on exposed higher ridges, so check conditions each hole and adjust club selection accordingly.
