Approach shots require careful club selection since bentgrass greens can be firm and subtly undulating, so prioritize pace and the correct starting line.

Many holes follow natural highland terrain with modest elevation changes, so account for uphill and downhill lies and consider taking one extra club on uphill approaches.

Uniquely shaped bunkers often protect landing areas and greens, so play conservatively to avoid difficult recoveries from deep or awkward bunker positions.

Wind can pick up on exposed, higher-elevation holes—check conditions and favor controlled, lower trajectory shots when breezy.
