Prioritize accuracy off the tee rather than distance because many holes are lined with trees and ponds that punish errant drives.

Fairways are generally spacious but feature subtle undulations that can influence stance and approach angles, so choose clubs conservatively for your second shots.

Greens vary between bentgrass and zoysia (kōrai), producing different speeds and bounces, so take extra time to read the surface and test your first putt.

Wind is usually light but can pick up on exposed or elevated holes and during frontal passages, so check conditions before selecting clubs.

Morning rounds can have fog and damp turf near the lake which reduces roll, so allow extra yardage and be cautious with low punch shots.
