Fairways are relatively flat and forgiving, so focus on accurate tee placement rather than always trying to hit maximum distance.

Holes 2 and 16 provide views of Mount Asama and can be more exposed to wind, so check wind direction and club up or down accordingly.

Bentgrass greens are generally smooth and receptive, so spend time reading subtle breaks and control approach speed to avoid three-putts.

Make use of the GPS-equipped two-person cart to confirm distances and plan conservative strategies; the course encourages a relaxed, overseas-style pace of play.
