The hilly layout demands careful club selection for uphill and downhill shots, often playing one club more or less than distance suggests.

Many holes are framed by ponds and valleys so prioritize accuracy off the tee rather than pure distance to avoid big numbers.

Exposed holes can pick up strong sea breezes from the Sea of Japan, so check wind direction on every tee and keep the ball flight lower when it's gusty.

Greens are a mix of bentgrass and zoysia and can be quite undulating, with bent areas running faster—take time to read subtle breaks and control approach spin.

GPS-equipped carts help navigate blind or rolling fairways, but when slopes or hazards come into play it is usually wiser to lay up to safer landing areas.
