Accuracy off the tee is important because many holes are tree-lined with relatively narrow landing areas, so favor placement over maximum distance.

The course’s mountainous layout includes frequent elevation changes, so adjust club selection accordingly (use more club uphill and less club downhill).

Coastal winds from Sagami Bay can be variable and influence ball flight on exposed holes, so check wind direction before every tee shot and play conservatively when it is gusty.

Bentgrass greens tend to be moderately quick with subtle undulations, so prioritize hitting the green and focus on speed control on longer putts.

Morning fog and quick weather shifts are common in Hakone, so bring layered clothing and be prepared for reduced visibility early in the round.
