Accuracy is rewarded on many holes framed tightly by forest, so prioritize placement over sheer distance off the tee.

Take elevation changes into account—with up to 25 m of relief you may need to club up or down on uphill and downhill shots.

Several greens are guarded by ponds and creeks, so approach shots require precision to avoid water hazards.

Greens are bentgrass and generally receptive but can feature subtle undulations, so spend time reading breaks and controlling your speed.

Wind can be brisk and changeable on exposed holes and soft spikes are required, so bring appropriate footwear and check wind before you play.

Tomakomai is coastal Hokkaido so expect cool summers with frequent coastal breezes and rapidly changing conditions, while winters are cold and snowy which limits the playing season.

Late May through October (peak June–September) is best, with warm, comfortable summers and clear early-autumn days ideal for golf.

Wearing hats and jackets is not required; however, please adhere to standard etiquette and manners. When wearing half pants, it is preferable to wear high socks. Sunglasses are not allowed inside the clubhouse.
