At roughly 1000 meters elevation the ball carries farther than at sea level, so knock down one club on most long shots.

The course layout favors positional play rather than pure length—favor accuracy off the tee to leave comfortable approach angles into the greens.

Bentgrass greens are maintained to a high standard and play firm with subtle breaks, so focus on hitting the proper putting line and leaving uphill approach shots when possible.

Wind on the highland plateau can be gusty and change direction during a round, so check the flag often and adjust club selection accordingly.
