Many tees offer clear sightlines to the green—use that visual information to pick precise targets and club selection rather than always hitting for maximum distance.

Bentgrass greens are well maintained and can be brisk, so focus on leaving approach shots below the hole and on good lag putting rather than aggressive long putts.

At nearly 6,900 yards the course plays long on some par 4s and par 5s, so carry sufficient distance and consider laying up to favorable angles on doglegs rather than forcing risky lines.

Wind near the Hakkoda foothills can change with elevation and time of day, so check flags and vegetation before every shot and adjust club choice; soft spikes are recommended.
