Fairways can be narrow in places and the routing rewards accuracy off the tee more than raw distance, so favor controlled drives to avoid trouble.

Bentgrass greens tend to be smooth and can play quick when dry, so take time to read subtle breaks and control putter speed.

Wind can be a factor on exposed holes, often coming off the Nasu range, so check direction and strength before committing to a club.

Approach shots that attack the center of the green reduce risk on undulating surfaces and give safer two-putt opportunities.
