Well-placed bunkers and water hazards make conservative play attractive on many holes, so consider laying up on long par 5s when hazards come into play.

Account for elevation changes (within about 30m) by clubbing up or down as needed on uphill/downhill approaches to avoid coming up short or overshooting.
