The hilly layout and wide, well-separated fairways reward accurate tee shots and careful course management rather than pure power.

Factor elevation changes into club selection as many holes play longer or shorter than the card yardage due to uphill and downhill lies.

Be cautious on the 9th where grass bunkers protect the green and can leave difficult recovery shots if you miss your target.

The finishing 18th with its traditional lantern requires a precise approach to a well-guarded green, so favour accuracy over aggressive lines.

Wind from nearby Mt. Hakusan and Kobagata Lake can shift during the round, so check conditions frequently and adjust club choice accordingly.

Best played in late spring (May–June outside the rainy season) or in autumn (September–November), when weather is most stable and views of Mt. Hakusan are clearest.
