The course is laid out as three distinct nines (Honmaru, Ninomaru, Sanmaru), so treat each loop separately and adjust strategy and club selection for their differing characteristics.

Hilly terrain brings frequent uphill and downhill shots, so account for elevation when choosing clubs and favor conservative tee targets to avoid trouble.

Bentgrass greens are generally true but often have subtle undulations, so take time to read breaks and expect relatively quick putts on receptive surfaces.

Winds are typically lighter than coastal courses but can gust on exposed ridges in the afternoon, so check conditions before long approaches and use the night-lit practice range to dial in yardages.
