Prioritize accuracy off the tee rather than pure distance because the hilly fairways, large bunkers and creeks penalize errant drives.

Bentgrass greens are undulating and change character with pin positions, so play conservative club selection and focus on leaving yourself makable putts.

Account for elevation changes by adjusting club selection up or down on uphill and downhill shots and favor the safe side of greens to avoid bunker complexes.

Watch the wind on exposed ridges and elevated tees, as variable crosswinds can significantly alter ball flight on longer holes.
