Prioritize accuracy off the tee rather than distance because water hazards and valley crossings punish wayward drives.

Approach shots require precision—aim for the center of the bentgrass greens to avoid tricky pin placements and subtle breaks.

Although many holes play fairly flat, several require careful club selection for elevation and carries over hazards, so play conservatively into trouble.

Wind is generally light to moderate inland but can pick up on exposed holes, so check conditions and adjust club numbers accordingly.
