At just over 5,300 yards for a par 70, accuracy off the tee is more valuable than raw distance so aim to leave comfortable approach distances rather than always trying to bomb it.

Bentgrass greens tend to run true on this highland course so take care reading subtle breaks and avoid long uphill lag putts when possible.

The layout is relatively flat and accessible, so play conservative tee shots to the middle of fairways to set up straightforward iron or wedge approaches.

Be prepared for changeable winds and quick weather shifts in Karuizawa—check conditions and adjust club selection, especially on exposed holes.
