Hakodate Golf Club Yunokawa Golf Course, established in 1927, is the oldest prestigious course in Hokkaido. Although the course has only nine holes, tees and greens are switched to provide 18 different playing experiences, so check tee placements and treat the second loop like a new layout.

The course is relatively short but features narrow fairways, so prioritize accuracy off the tee over pure distance to avoid trouble.

The 6th tee is elevated with panoramic views of Mount Hakodate and the Tsugaru Strait, but it is exposed and prone to crosswinds so adjust club selection accordingly.

Bentgrass greens are well maintained and can be firm and quick, so leave approach shots below the hole and take careful reads on the breaks.

Soft spikes are required; bring appropriate footwear and be ready for modest uphill and downhill lies due to gentle undulations around the course.
