Asahino Country Club is a beautiful hilly course located in the Kamono area of Higashiomi, Shiga Prefecture. Known for its elegant atmosphere, the course features a variety of holes that incorporate natural ponds and trees, offering a scenic and diverse golfing experience. Conveniently accessible from both the Kansai and Chubu regions, it is about a 15-minute drive from Ryuo IC and 10 minutes from Gamo Smart IC on the Meishin Expressway, making it easily reachable from Osaka in around 1 hour and 20 minutes. The club also offers a well-maintained driving range and modern electric battery carts, ensuring a comfortable visit.

The course is hilly with tree-lined fairways and ponds, so prioritize accuracy off the tee over pure distance to avoid trouble and leave mid- to short-iron approaches.

Account for elevation changes when selecting clubs—uphill par‑4s and downhill approaches will change carry and roll, so club up or down accordingly.

Greens are bentgrass and can be subtle and receptive; pay attention to pin positions and read subtle breaks, especially on sloped greens.

Wind can be changeable on the hilltops and in tree gaps—watch flags and play conservative lines when gusts pick up to avoid drifting into water or trees.

Higashiomi has a humid subtropical climate: hot, humid summers with a rainy season in June–mid July and occasional typhoons in late summer; winters are cool with occasional snow, and spring and autumn are generally mild and pleasant.

Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the most comfortable temperatures and attractive foliage, with autumn providing clear days after the peak typhoon season.

When visiting, please be sure to wear a jacket or blazer, except during the period from May 1 to September 30. Entry is not allowed wearing jeans, T-shirts, camouflage pants, or sandals.
