Accuracy off the tee is more valuable than distance because tree-lined fairways and numerous ponds penalize errant drives.

Subtle fairway undulations can redirect tee shots into trouble, so prioritize placement and conservative lines on tight holes.

Bentgrass greens are kept in good condition year-round but are often well-guarded by bunkers and water, so favor precision on approaches and commit to your line on putts.

The hilly routing creates frequent elevation changes—adjust club selection for uphill/downhill shots and be aware that wind can be deceptive in sheltered valleys and on elevated tees.
