The hilly layout requires careful club selection on uphill and downhill shots—plan to use an extra club uphill and one less downhill when in doubt.

At 6,756 yards accuracy off the tee is important, so favor controlled drives to find fairways rather than trying to overpower tight landing areas.

Winds from Mount Bandai and Lake Inawashiro can be gusty and changeable, so check the flags and play conservative trajectories when the wind is variable.

Bentgrass greens are generally smooth and can run quickly in warm months, so focus on lag putting and be cautious with aggressive putts.

Aim for the center of greens and avoid missing to steep slopes or runoffs on hilly holes, as recovery lies can be awkward on the contours.
